Every year, at the main campus of my university in Monterrey, Mexico, one of the largest hackathons in the country takes place. Hundreds of students from all over the country fly to this city to participate and create software products that have the potential to revolutionize the world.
The first year I wanted to participate, I coordinated with some friends to attend. I knew I wanted the team to have a logo and a name that could easily identify us, which is when I came up with the name Binarios (Binaries in English), referring to the binary code of computers.
For the logo, I wanted to represent these two digits, 0 and 1. Playing with the numbers, I thought of using the 0 as the circle of a lowercase b and the 1 as the stem to form the b. I used a grid to ensure that the logo was consistent in all its parts. In the end, we couldn't attend that year, but we did the next year, and it's safe to say that no other team had the quality of name and logo that we did ;)
